Mumble Error Fix
Mumble is a voice-over IP
application specially designed for the gamers. It sometimes fails to load and
shows an error message. Here are a few tricks that are commonly used to as
Mumble error fix and get it work properly.
1. Reinstall Microsoft Visual C++
Redistributable
2. Reinstall Mumble
3. Use Compatibility Features
4. Restore your System
Reinstall Microsoft Visual C++
Redistributable
Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable
is required to make Mumble work fine. If the files stored in the Visual C++ are
corrupt, then you might experience Mumble error.
1. Click Start, select Control
Panel.
2. Click Programs icon
and then Uninstall a Program.
3. Choose Microsoft Visual C++
Redistributable from the given list and click Uninstall or
Remove button. Confirm the action and follow on-screen-instructions.
4. Visit Microsoft Download Center and download the latest
version of it.
5. Run the downloaded file and start
the actual installation.
Reinstall Mumble
First of all, using Control Panel,
uninstall the copy of Mumble installed on your computer. Then manually delete
the associated files and thereafter only reinstall it on your computer.
1. Using Control Panel, uninstall Mumble.
(See above guidelines for details)
2. Open My Computer.
3. From the C:\Program Files directory,
delete the Mumble folder. Delete other folders with the same name
from the following directory as well:
C:\Documents and
Settings\\ApplicationData
4. Then, click Start, select Run.
5. Type RegEdit and
press ENTER. Registry Editor will open. Now, delete the registry paths
given below:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE => => Software => => Microsoft => => Windows => => CurrentVersion\Run | A string with Mumble.exe or similar name
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE => => Software => => Mumble
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER => => Software => => Mumble
6. Close Registry Editor and My
Computer.
7. Connect to the internet, download
a fresh setup online and start the installation. Reinstall it and reboot your
computer.
Use Compatibility Features
You may need to edit the Program
Compatibility features as a Mumble error fix. The required steps are given
below:
1. On the desktop, right click
Mumble shortcut and select Properties.
2. The File Properties dialog will
open. Click the Compatibility tab which is the second one.
3. There's a checkbox called Run
this program in compatibility mode for. Check it, select earlier version of
Windows from the next drop down box and click Apply | OK.
Restore your System
If the above tricks fails to fix
Mumble error, then try restoring your computer to a healthy restore point
available. For this, use the built-in System Restore tool.
1. Click Start, type System
Restore in the Search box and press ENTER.
2. Click Next, select a
system restore point when Mumble was working fine. Follow the on screen wizard.
Check for Viruses
Finally, make sure that your computer is not
infected by malicious files. Update your virus definitions and perform full
