Silverlight Plugin Crash
The Silverlight Plugin crashes every time you watch a video online. When additional information is asked, it shows the name of problem causing file, usually a .DLL type of file. There are several approaches to fix this problem. Do the steps given below until your problem is being solved.
1. Reinstall the Plugin
2. Enable Permanent Full Screen Video
3. Resolve Registry Issues
4. Disable Hardware Acceleration
5. Stop Faulty Services
Reinstall the Plugin
Possibly, the installation of Microsoft Silverlight plugin might have problems. For example: Some of the installation files are missing or overwritten by other programs. Fix Silverlight plugin crash by reinstalling it as below:
1. Click Start, select Control Panel.
2. Click Programs, and then Uninstall a Program.
3. Select Microsoft Silverlight from the installed programs list. Click Uninstall to begin.
4. When you’re prompted to restart, do it immediately.
5. Download the latest version of Microsoft Silverlight from Microsoft Download Centre.
6. Run the downloaded file and follow the on screen installation wizard.
7. When you’re done, please restart the web browser.
Enable Permanent Full Screen Video
Often Silverlight plugin crash is experienced while you’re asked to show the video in full screen while it is being played. In such cases, the browser stops responding when you’re asked to allow full screen for the said video.
Let your web browser permanently show all videos in the full screen mode. The actual steps may vary depending on which web browser you are using. For most web browsers, you can do so when a pop-up, banner or information bar asks while watching a video.
Resolve Registry Issues
When you’re watching a video which requires support of Silverlight plugin, registry information is retrieved and processed. The Silverlight plugin crash problem arises if the information stored in the registry is obsolete and junk.
Download a Registry Cleaner program. Run it. Start a full scan and repair all errors found in your registry.
Disable Hardware Acceleration
For operations performed on the general-purpose CPU, hardware acceleration feature is used. It makes it possible to perform certain tasks faster with the help of installed hardware.
Silverlight plugin crash problem arises if the hardware acceleration feature is enabled. To stop the crashes, disable this feature and then try watching a video online.
1. Click Start, select Control Panel.
2. Click Appearance and Personalization | Display.
3. On the left hand side, click Change Display Settings link.
4. Click Advanced Settings link.
5. In the new dialog, click Troubleshoot tab.
6. Click Change Settings button.
7. Move the Hardware Acceleration slider to None and click OK | OK.
Stop Faulty Services
Some of the services running in the background can be responsible for Silverlight plugin crash problem. I believe the Tablet PC Input service can be the root cause of this problem. Consider stopping it.
1. Click Start, select Run.
2. Type Services.msc in the Open box and press ENTER.
3. Right click Tablet PC Input or any other faulty service and select Stop option. Confirm it.

There is a great application Digeus I recommend to use this software when operational system freezes, doesn't boot up, chashes or hangs. I also use Tune Up Suite. It protects your computer from system crashes.
